the following text is quoted directly from this site, YourFanFiction: www.yourfanfiction.com/news.ph…

Dear Users,

We are sad to have to say that, due to low donations and time limitations, there is a possibility that within the next few months, this site may have to close. When we started it, we didn't expect that we would get anywhere near the numbers we have and now it has become too much for us at the moment both financially and otherwise.

We're sending this email in the hopes that a couple of our existing users may be interested in running the site themselves and, if this is the case, we'd love to hear from you asap so that we can work on getting you up to speed. To run the site as it is, it will only need someone with minimal coding knowledge, but for developments it will need more of an advanced skill. if there's a group of people who want to work on it, we'll be fine with that.

We hope to hear from one, or some, of you soon so that we can still keep this growing site up and running.

Kind Regards

Your Fanfiction Admin :)

to anyone on the east coast..

hey all, we just had an earthquake here on the east coast.

usgs map: earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquake…

according to that, it originated near richmond virginia.

5.9 on the Richter scale.

usgs event information: earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquake…

I was on my dining room floor under the table petting the cat.. and the effing ground starts moving.

the walls were swaying... the lone car in the parking lot is riding its suspension...

I'm thinking the building's likely gonna come down...

so I dove under said dining room table.

where else to be in an earthquake when making a run for it seems like a bad idea?

I'm fine, both cats are fine, apartment building is fine, neighbors are all fine.

messing around with my nintendo 3ds. just bought it yesterday, to replace my aging nintendo ds classic, which is showing her age, as more and more pixels on the top screen fail.

while the software lineup for the system is meager at best, there is plenty of potential in this latest offering from the gaming gods over at nintendo.

rather enjoying the fact that unlike the dsi and dsi xl, this incarnation of the ds can actually play mp3s!

I even went so far as to go and buy a 4gb micro sdhc memory card back in, I think it was february, when it was on sale, just so I could pack a ton of music on the 3ds when I got it.

sadly, the built in web browser and eShop are not yet enabled, though they will be later on in the month.

can the current lineup of software and built in features be described as meager and limited? yes, but I'm of the opinion that this means developers are taking the time to actually learn the hardware to better provide a more encompassing and enjoyable experience.

certainly seems to be the route nintendo is taking with the 3ds' built in browser and the new nintendo eShop.

sadly, yes the device battery life estimates are accurate, not that this will deter most gamers, I myself am more of a casual once in a while gamer, so this doesnt bother me all that much.

yes, yes they did include the promised 2gb sd card with the system, not packaged in one of those plastic sleeves as I'd expected, but actually loaded into the device's memory card slot! that was a complete surprise!

the netflix functionality rumors would appear to be more accurate than most give them credit for, if that free video demo the present march software update included is any indication.

I'm rambling now, so I'll end this entry, though I will certainly revisit this topic at a later date.

these programs are something worth considering.

I swear by avast, it does the job, reliably, efficiently, and with little if any fuss, in short, grandma proof.

I currently use a competitor of libreoffice, openoffice, and find the program to be quite satisfactory, though there are others I know who use libreoffice and swear by it.

the file storage solutions I cannot comment on as I dont use them.

as to the kindle reader software, while I plan to get a competitor's handheld reader later on in the year, the product is solid, reliable, and I encourage anyone with interest in it, particularly those that read alot to check it out.

this is a very good idea for a new tv series, pity it is apparently an april fools day joke, as no info exists for it on imbd.com, and FX has nothing on it either.

I feel cheated somehow......

I am writing to voice my displeasure with the current social security system as it relates to health care.

for years, I have had an issue with my name, as the social security administration computers have repeatedly mangled my name, mangled my name and re-listed my sex(male for the record) to female, based off name mangling, among other things.

in an effort to fix this, I eventually ended up with two entries in the system, an incorrect entry, and a correct one.

now, when average time spend processing the average case is 500+ days, I find both the incorrect one and correct one removed. this has left me bereft of general medical coverage and prescription drug coverage, and I am without re-course, as for 2 months straight, I have attempted to contact social security, and gotten the machine.

no followup call has been forthcoming.

in this instance, using an a-f grade system, I give the health care system an F.

steps to improve this grade include but are not limited to: increased funding and manpower, better facilities, among other things.

--

my life in a nutshell.

honestly, I could go to England and get better frakking health care!

if you've likewise had issues with social security, please, call them, write them letters, make a nuisance of yourselves, nothing else seems to work.

hell, try going on tv!

never thought I'd be ashamed to be an american.........

I'm going back to shooting the tv with my nerf guns.......

anyone notice the avatar changes?

anyone actually bother to look at the blasted calender?

anyone making the connection yet?

this happened last year too, and it wasnt funny then, it's not funny now.

my avatar's been changed, and it seems I've been locked out of changing it back!

this was exceptionally annoying last year, and I recall sending an email to tech support asking that they NOT do this again next year.

this can be considered an unauthorized account modification, and should not have even been considered! much less done!.

suffice it to say, I dont find this shit amusing...

suffice it to say, while in some areas it's not where i'd like it to be, it is by far a better rig.

as it's 64bit, I can generally do more, faster.

also, as it qualifies for the windows 7 upgrade, and I've heard from people i know and trust that it's worth it, I plan to order the upgrade kit and apply it asap.

in conclusion, I'm happy with the machine so far.

it's got 27 days left of it's probationary period.
